I am just discovering some of the cool things that are going on out there in the application market. In general, the things that will make the most impact on us will be the applications and programs that we use. This will give a brief, but interesting take on Brew. I think it must have something to do with Java sounds like coffee and the logo's are eerily similar. |

Things You'll Need:
- The ability to program and be imaginative. Brief overview of how things work in Brew.
1
First is understanding that Brew is the environment that they create programs in. By using this environment that is used by Blackberry you will be able to create a program2
You will need to download the program https://brewx.qualcomm.com/brew/sdk/download.jsp
This will allow you to start creating. This is the software development Kit. Like any programming language you will need have a compiler.3
So months or years or days or whatever time period it takes you to write that cool program like using your camera to take pictures of barcodes and identifying products, will pass and you will be ready to sell this puppy. BTW this is a real application.4
So you have made the application that you think others will want and you want to put it in a media that is starting to gain marketshare; the cell phone. It needs to be tested.5
It will go through "True Brew" testing. The program will be checked for bugs and being robust. 6
Show me the money! You have spent some time developing and testing your product and you want this thing to go to market while it is still hot! Now an agreement needs to be made. Between you and the guys that will market your wares.7
You will get a term sheet which is the agreement that houses how much you will sell your application for. You do want to sell it don't you? Capitalist swine what can we do? So you agree and sign the document.8
How does Brew help you? Well it has a place called "BREW application download server." So now you have an audience that is looking for cool apps.9
Now you have developed, tested, set a price for and marketed your application. All of this can be done through Brew. 10
This is pretty cool. Native C or C++ will work but if you program you may be able to decipher your way into a cool application.
